This catalogue surveys contemporary design practices in Berlin, focusing on five studios—EXEX, verys, dailydialogue, Studio Yukiko, and Hort. It documents how grid discipline, typographic precision, and rhythm coexist with experimentation and visual spontaneity. The publication balances structure and emotion to reflect Berlin’s evolving graphic identity.
The design strategy for this project began with research into contemporary editorial typography through platforms such as Savee and Another Graphic Design. These sources offered a wide range of visual references, helping to shape an approach grounded in grid systems, typographic hierarchy, and spatial rhythm.
During this process, a clear attraction emerged toward the precision and clarity of German design, particularly from Berlin. This led to a focused study of five Berlin-based design studios whose work balances structural order with expressive experimentation.
